Hello! I'm a stroke-survivor, licensed acupuncturist, acutonics practitioner, speaker, and lover of new adventures and challenges. In 1996 while traveling in Tibet, I had two strokes that wiped out my ability to speak and completely paralyzed the right side of my body. Upon returning to the US, my doctors delivered the bad news that I'd never be able to walk without assistance, or have any movement in my right side. Although I couldn't speak the words at the time, I knew they were wrong, and I've worked every day since then to prove it.
Today I live a full life, speaking, teaching and treating others who have sustained many types of injuries. In the process of my own ongoing recovery and work with others, I have discovered and developed new acutonics treatment approaches for neurological injury and illness.
Despite the stories of survivors like myself, many people today hold outdated ideas about the fate that awaits stroke survivors with injuries like mine. Through my work in holistic wellness, speaking about my experiences, and continuing my journey of recovery, I raise awareness about the limitless possibilities for survivors.
