In 2008 I met and began teaching with Alison Bonds Shapiro. Alison is a fellow stroke survivor and we both are passionate about helping those of us who experience a stroke or other neurological injury. Together we have taught thousands of survivors and their family members. You can find out more about our work together by following this link:
One of the projects I in which I have been involved that has given me the most joy is the film What Now? Sharing Brain Recovery Lessons. What we think and believe about our injuries changes our brains and our recoveries. This 17 minute film has helped so many people around the world heal and recover. And it has relieved the worry and suffering of their loved ones. Watch it. Share it. Help make a difference. Click on the image below to see the video:
Wohaula is a social media platform designed by and for survivors of stroke and other brain injuries and their loved ones. The founder of Wohaula is the wife of a stroke survivor and I am a senior advisor to Wohaula. By providing information and training for one another we are empowering our recoveries and reclaiming our lives.
